Dodge is the connection between Dayton and Bakersfield, and acts as the link between SVL’s lower level and the “lowest” level. At around 2.5%, that route is steep, causing some trains to have to double going in and out of Bakersfield. As the saying goes, people want to get the heck out of Dodge.
