Hallelujah is where the SVL single track mainline widens to double-track. On the edge of town is Hallelujah Junction, where an old branchline runs behind the paper mill back towards a remote coal mine. On the single track mainline near the junction is the turnout to Hemet.
Hallelujah Paper dominates the railroad’s attention here, with daily trains delivering and picking up cars all to make sure the company’s needs are met. Just to make things more interesting, SVL Management also has the Papermill switch job take cars up to Igo to service the nearby Igo LPG spur.
